I don't want to be around some people either... does that mean that I can kill them?

Listen to this audio clip from Vicki McKenna's radio show. It's based out of Madison where this bill has just been passed. She's talking to an abortionist and he describes the process of late term abortions in detail. It made me sick. I listened to it a half hour ago and I'm still crying. They don't want American taxpayers to suffer due to poor spending choices made on their behalf.

Obama wrote an opinion piece in the Washington Post where he made his case for urgency. One key quote I picked up was this:

"What Americans expect from Washington is action that matches the urgency they feel in their daily lives -- action that's swift, bold and wise enough for us to climb out of this crisis,"

Alright... there are many things wrong with his statement.

First, he's calling for swift action. Yes, of course he is. The faster he can push through this pork-filled bill, the more junk he can attach to it without having to explain it to taxpayers. All politicians have to do what they can for their districts and make good on their promises, but the thing is, I don't really feel like paying for a mob museum for the people of Las Vegas. It's stupid. Things like that have polluted the bill, which at this point as lost all the key components of what it was originally meant to do... which is help the country come back from our recession.

Second, he wants to be bold. I think he is being bold, actually... in the fact that he feels he can take advantage of his position by screwing over the people. We know that the democrats that are pushing for this ridiculous bill don't pay their taxes, so obviously they have no stake in it. They see money to satisfy their re-election needs, and don't bat an eyelash at the pricetag. Listen, I refuse to put money toward the re-election of Nanci Pelosi. Bold action? Yeah, I'd say committing robbery against the American public as a president is bold.

Third, he wants wise action to be taken. Someone please tell me what is wise about this bill? Most of the jobs lost have been blue-collar jobs in manufacturing particularly. The very wise stiumlus bill proposed will send money to things such as urban forestry and training doctors and nurses how to work in a socialized healthcare setting. Wise? I think not. That isn't job creation... at least not creation that will stand the test of time. All the plans in this bill will fall apart within a few years, or they won't go into effect for years. How does that help Americans now?

Another problem? The fact that Americans are depending on this bill at all. I'm not being fair to the democrats here, Americans are also to blame. They have taken on the role of victim and expect the government to hold their hand through tough times. Since when are Americans dependent and weak? I've always thought this was the greatest country in the world where strong, independent people lived. It seems to me that we are giving up our freedom and independence for a quick fix and easy road. The fact is that if we give in to such ridiculous ideas now, we will just push ourselves further into dependency.

I, for one, want to stand on my own two feet. I don't want the government to be messing around in my business. I'm a struggling college student. I don't have any money. My family doesn't have much money either... but we're not about to go ask for handouts from the government. It's a part of life that people have good times and they have bad times. How someone handles the bad times is what makes them stronger and stronger. Tough times builds the character that is needed to keep America at the top of the world totem pole. Why has everyone forgotten that? Why is it okay to throw in the towel and beg for government assistance? Are we really that weak?

The "action" that needs to be taken shouldn't be taking place in Washington DC. It should be happening in the homes of Americans. We should be tightening our belts and braving the storm. If you don't have money, then you need to give up some luxuries that has made you soft.

What am I talking about?

How many Americans have cable? How many have cell phones? Multiple televisions and cars? Think about it. We are so blessed in this country that we come to expect the luxury items that we enjoy. Everything past food, water, and shelter are just pork.

I'm sick of the comparisons between our recession and The Great Depression. Have any of you looked at the pictures from that time or done any reading about it? Do you think our grandparents were asking the government for assistance so they could keep their... cable? I don't think so. They couldn't put food on the table. Go look in your cabinet and think about how much food you have in there. We are not nearly at that point, so get over yourselves.

President Obama, his team, and the media are blowing this situation way out of proportion, and Americans are letting themselves get carried away in the crosswinds. Instead of believing the hype, look into the situation, look at your own situation and please think about how blessed you truly are. We don't need this ridiculous stimulus package. What we need is a kick in the pants and a push off the couch. Oprah won't help your situation, and neither will Katie Couric.

Be smart. Let your congressmen know you don't need that bill and get working. The recession isn't as bad as it seems, and with hard work we can pull ourselves back up. It's the American way. Let's not be France... that won't work for anyone.

The Race Thing... I'm Over It.

Michael Steele no doubt was a good choice for Republican Chairman... however, just as I have a problem with labeling Obama, I have a problem with labeling Steele.

As reported on newstalk1130.com, The Repubican Party has indeed chosen it's " first black chairman" but really, does it matter that he's black?

I'm sick of the role that race is playing everywhere these days. Why aren't we all just Americans, plain and simple? Race doesn't effect politics and how they work... well, at least it shouldn't.

There have been accusations from the left that Republicans have only chosen Steele because of the fact that he's black. Shouldn't anyone acknowledge the fact that he's qualified?

Also, it's ridiculous that there seems to be a competition over which party can acquire more black people. Again, why does it matter? We aren't white and black, we are Americans.

The article makes a point further down to mention that "The Democratic Party elected its first black chairman, Ron Brown, in 1989".

Is that really relevant? Seriously, give me a break! Who cares if the Democrats had a black chairman first? They're always the first to make foolish legislation too, but I don't see them publicizing that. Liberals now are just angry because we have a highly intelligent and capable man at the helm of the party. It's not about race. It's about qualification. Of course they had the first black chairman, but how qualified was he? I mean, he was the poster child for Pepsi when he was a child. (I don't want to hear comments about Reagan's movie career... thanks)

Alright, I'm not being fair. I'm not an expert on the career of Ron Brown. Maybe he was qualified... for a a position in the democratic party. The qualifications for such positions must be pretty low.

My point is, everyone needs to get over the race card. It's been overplayed. The hand is old. Everyone has seen it, used it, and abused it. It's time to get past it and look at a man for his abilities at his appointed position. Whether we're talking about Michael Steel or Barack Obama, race shouldn't be a factor. It never should have been in the first place, but certainly not anymore.

For a country that likes to think it's not racist, we sure put a lot of emphasis on the subject. GET OVER IT.... we're Americans. I don't know how many times I should say it. Hopefully it sinks in.

Liberals, please for once just shut up. We elected Steele because he's the best man for the job, not because he's black. Just like you elected Obama... because he's (the best man for the job...?) not because he's black. Or maybe you did... and that's why you have a hard time understanding our decision on Steele.

Well, whatever. Get over it. The race thing needs to disappear. We're Americans first. Americans.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://spektorseasybutton.blogspot.com/2009/02/race-thing-im-over-it.html' title='The Race Thing... I know that through the entire election process, he's been some kind of savior to millions... but hey, he's in office now. We have some serious problems. It's about time we stop worshiping and start holding the man accountable. We can't do that by praising every "right" move he makes, which any decent human being should make anyway.

While browsing Foxnews.com's blogs, I came across one by Betsy Newmark. The opening lines were: "I give Obama credit for doing on all those network and cable interviews yesterday in the midst of the whole fallout from the Daschle debacle and taking blame by telling ABC News “I screwed up.” He admitted to FOX News’ Chris Wallace that he shouldn’t have a double standard on taxpaying."

Listen, folks, this is ridiculous. Does he really deserve credit for admitting that he was being foolish with his cabinet picks? NO! People make mistakes and take credit for them all the time. Even former democratic President Clinton took credit for his mistakes, and he's a sleeze. The only difference is that the media wasn't all over it, giving him praise and respect. They tore him apart in the media.

What makes Clinton and Obama different? They are both democrats. They both made mistakes. They both took responsibility for them. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that Obama's mistake is worse, because he is dealing with people that effect the lives of all Americans. Clinton was just effecting Hillary, and really now... who cares about Hillary? They don't even sleep in the same bedroom, what would she care that he's cheating with an intern?

The difference is that Obama is black. Wow, sorry... should I not have said that?

Since he's a "history maker" and symbolizes a "new America" he is invinsible when it comes to criticism. It makes me angry. He is the president now, which mean he is not black. Color has no place in his ability to govern. So who cares? The media needs to stop giving him breaks on his stupidity just because of his skin color. Get real here. You guys hate racism, so stop playing into it. We are all Americans, so lets be treated the same whether black, white, yellow, green or whatever.

The bottom line is that yes, Obama messed up. Yes, Obama took credit for it. But he SHOULD NOT be patted on the back for it. Any decent person would do the same, and in fact, do everyday. So get over yourselves, news media. Grow some balls and find it in your journalistic agendas to get down to business and criticize his poor choices. Three tax-fraud nominees is a big deal. This is your money he's playing with. If nothing else, shouldn't you care where it's going?

Let's get real guys, and do some responsible reporting. I don't give a crap about his apology. Babies, up to one day before their due date, are being killed across the country. The process is gross and although it hurts my heart to hear it, think about, speak it... everyone should understand so that maybe there can be an end to the murder.

During partial birth abortions, doctors pull the babies by their feet down the birth canal. Since 80% of the babies are normal and functioning correctly, doctors must breech so that the babies don't cry. Doctors deliver the baby almost all the way, leaving only the head inside the mother.

A scissors is then jammed into the back of the partially born baby's skull, puncturing it. A tube is inserted into the hole, and the brains of the baby are sucked out, thus killing the child. After the baby's head is deflated, it is pulled out and disposed of.

When I first read about this horrifying proceedure, I cried. My stomach turned and I was upset for a long time after. I'm still upset now. It's horrible what they are doing. Since when is murder allowed in this country? I'm outraged that there are people who believe is such acts of cruelty and murder... but I'm more outraged that there aren't more people speaking up.

I'm prolife. Plain and simple. There are no "ifs, ands, or butts" about the subject. Abortion is murder. I don't care what anyone says, there is no excuse for murdering a child. And yes, it is a child from the first second of conception.

There is the argument that it's not a real child while it's a fetus... that's up for others to discuss. But honestly, in the third term, at the time that partial birth abortions take place, the baby looks like a baby. There is not mistaking that the child is a true living, breathing person. If delivered fully, the baby would be a fully functioning premature child. How can anyone get away with killing a child that is in the process of being born? Can someone explain the logic behind it? I can't wrap my mind around the idea. You are killing a child that is being born... I DON'T GET IT!

This past Thursday in Madison, prolife activists were protesting to try and convince lawmakers at the state level to re-instate the ban on partial birth abortions. Hopefully the state can put 2 and 2 together and realize that murder is wrong and judge on the side of life, but in our morally distraught world, who knows what will happen.

I get heated on this subject, obviously, and for good reason. Abortion is murder no matter which way you look at it. But for those who are not solidly convinced, I'll leave with some great words from a great man:

"I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born"

"Make no mistake, abortion-on-demand is not a right granted by the Constitution"

"We cannot diminish the value of one category of human life — the unborn — without diminishing the value of all human life."

"Regrettably, we live at a time when some persons do not value all human life. They want to pick and choose which individuals have value."

"We must all educate ourselves to the reality of the horrors taking place. Doctors today know that unborn children can feel a touch within the womb and that they respond to pain."

"We cannot survive as a free nation when some men decide that others are not fit to live and should be abandoned to abortion or infanticide. My Administration is dedicated to the preservation of America as a free land, and there is no cause more important for preserving that freedom than affirming the transcendent right to life of all human beings, the right without which no other rights have any meaning. Without even trying, you can discover things that you were never suppose to hear, or that you ever wanted to hear.

For example, today in my comparative politics class, my instructor (I don't believe she is a professor, but rather a librarian at the Milwaukee Zoo library who fancies herself an intellectual) stated the greatness of socialism. Now, I'm sure that if she wanted to keep that a secret, she wouldn't have muttered it in class loud enough for me to hear while sitting in the front row. However, that is a disturbing piece of information that, while it's a good thing to know, is something I'd rather not think about. My instructor supports socialism. My guess is that she supports Obama as well.

Moving on...

In my constitution class, we were discussing Richard Weaver's book Ideas Have Consequences. One girl in the class brought up a passage about the masculinity of modern women, and asked why there is still discrimination against a growing population of many women. Now, there are certain things that make me angry about the treatment of women. One being that in some areas of the workforce, they still don't get paid the same for the same job. (Obama pays his women $.83 to a man's $1.00 in case you were wondering) That being said, I'm not a crazy feminist who believes women can do anything a man can. For example, I cannot be an effective firefighter. I'm too small and to weak. I'll leave that to a man to do, and I'll use my God-given talents somewhere else. But that's beside the point. What I'm getting at is the fact that this girl was suggesting that women are discriminated against and should be treated equally in every aspect of life. I disagree, and I wish that I could slap some sense into the girl.

Men and women are created differently, not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Studies prove it. Read a book, damnit. Not every woman can do a job a man can at the same capacity. Likewise, not every man can do the same job as well as a woman. It's just the way it is, and ridiculous feminst types need to wake up and realize that. Maybe if they did, they would lead much happier lives, and be far less stressed out.

Another interesting thing I heard today was directed at me. Well, not directly, but indirectly.

During my nutrition class, I couldn't hear my professor due to two very obnoxious girls sitting behind me. They would not stop chatting about everything except the material being covered in class. Realizing I wouldn't get much out of sitting there watching the teacher, I read a book that I've been devouring for the past week. This fantastic book is by Phil Valentino, and it's called The Conservative's Handbook. ( I highly recommend it) While I was reading, the girls behind me caught a glimpse of the title of my book. They immidiately switched their conversation from one of the having sex with a thirty-five year old, to me and how ridiculous I was for reading such garbage. The conversation moved forward with rhetoric about how great Obama was, how bad Bush sucked, and how stupid they thought all republicans were for being closed minded to change. You know, the usual.

It didn't shock me that they were saying those kinds of things, but it did surprise me that they wouldn't even have the decency to whisper. They said it out loud. I could hear it, everyone around could hear it. IN fact, some kids near me leaned over to check out my book.

Good... I hope they go out and purchase a copy.

In any event, it's annoying the things that people say. That garbage is littered all around the Marquette campus. In lecture halls, dining halls, and on the streets. Ridiculous people are saying outrageous things, and in some circumstances, dangerous... and no one is holding them responsible. No one is saying anything to them to combat their shallow thought processes. It's a crime, really, that I can pay $28,000 per year to go to a school full of idiots.

At least it's not somewhere like UW-Madison, I suppose. If I went there I wouldn't have any friends at all.

More than anything, be aware of what's happening around you. Anywhere you go, there will be an out of touch liberal there to say something that will make you upset. If you can pick it out, you can nail them for it and expose them for the hypocrits they are, and if you get nothing else from it... maybe you can get some relief for your own soul. I know that I do.

Speak Up

Sometimes it seems that there aren't many smart people in this country, and by smart, I mean conservative. However, lately I keep getting surprised.

More people that I've realized are actually conservatives, which obviously is a good thing. However, when I think about it, it's weird to me that I never knew before. This thought got me thinking further: conservatives are hiding.

Why is this?

There seems to be so much pressure to play for the blue team that people just keep their mouths shut about what they really think. I realize of course, that not everyone is a political junkie and that they aren't willing to stick their necks out to cause trouble. People worry about what others think of them, and don't want to cause controversy.

To an extent though, it's horrible to know that there are people who have it right but are too afraid to speak up. They are afraid to be who they are due to intese criticism. That's a shame. WHen people cannot be who they are because of a political group, there is something terribly wrong.

There is a very real chance that this country will continue down the path of destruction under liberal rule if the conservatives don't stand up and make some noise. Now, more than ever, is the time to stand up and question authority. Never stop asking questions, take no politician or Obama supporter prisoner. If they believe so deeply that they are right, then we need to make them prove it. Demand explainations. Demand you know where your money is going to. Hold the Obama administration accountable for their actions.

Conservatives, this is the time to come together and speak as one voice. We need to make sure that everyone knows exactly what is happening with their government and show them, at the very least, that there are grave issues that need to be fixed before they ruin everything this country stands for. The foundations are crumbling all around us, and if we don't make some noise now, it may be too late later. Let's not wait until it's so bad that it cannot be corrected, stand up and raise your voices now! Now is the time to regroup and make the GOP the GRAND old party once again. It's going to start with the base, the foundation, the conservatives. We can revamp the party and get this country back on track.

So, my point is that we cannot hide. Don't blend in with the masses of Obama worshipers. Don't be afraid to show yourselves for what you are: right. We shouldn't be ashamed or embarassed for being consevatives. We are what make this nation great. Stop hiding, start talking.

Sharing the Love

I want to comment on the love I've been receiving from people who don't appreciate my point of view. When I say love, I mean hate.

I got some ridiculously hateful text messages on my phone not too far back that began as digs on my political beliefs, which quickly moved to cuts at me personally.

Now, although I didn't have that phone number programmed in my phone, I quickly figured out who the culprit was. It was amusing to me that such a person would go out of their way to find my number and send me harassing messages. First, I haven't seen that particular person in years, and second, I have never had a personal issue with them personally.

If that person ever gets a hold of this post, I just want to let you know that I'm sure you thought it was a great idea at the time, and that you were hurting my feelings. Truthfully, it's just a little more proof that liberals are hypocrits and have nothing better to do that pick fights with others. I sincerely pray that you can find something more productive to do with your time. You could never hurt me because I don't think enough of you to let anything you say get to me.

Besides simple text messages, I received a slew of phone calls with restricted numbers. The person on the other end would say one hateful verse and hang up the phone. This was happening periodically, and one time they threatened to kill me. I didn't realize I was that huge of a threat to anyone, but hey... just remember that I believe in my second ammendment rights. Think about it.

By the way... where are you all getting my phone number?

Email has been a popular choice for spreading the love from liberals to me. The emails, by far, have been the best. People don't censor themselves over email, and they don't try to hide who they are either. It amazes me that I get these emails and then I'll see the same people at school the next day. They look at me as they walk by totally unphased. They don't seem embarassed or ashamed of their behavior. They walk by as if nothing ever happened, which in reality, nothing ever did. If I sent someone a terrible email, I would be horrified to see them the next day, or any day after that unless I was willing to say the same things to their face. I suppose that's the great thing about liberals at Marquette; they have no shame. But hey, that's liberals everywhere.

I guess I just want to point out, as I have in the past, that liberals are always preaching about love, tollerance, and open mindedness. They fail to practice what they preach. The hypocrasy still amazes me, even after I see it day after day. They have love for each other, but if you don't think exactly as they do, then you get nothing but hate. Interesting, isn't it?

I'd like to say that I enjoy the hate mail. It gives me a laugh and more basis to say that liberals are ridiculous. If you have something to say to me, though, it would be better for you to approach me personally. I'd much rather do that, because it's too easy to hide behind a keyboard.

Share the love, not the hypocracy.

BTW: To my lovely text message sender... I would seriously reconsider sending the type of things that you do when you're not accurate on your facts. That's a huge liability. Also, there can be reprecussions of your actions that will land on more than just you, not only now but in the future. It's not smart to burn your bridges when you live in the Great Lakes region. =)

Also, your brother is in one of my classes. ;)

Mission Accomplished

Many, many times I have believed that liberals have hit their lowest low. I am always amazed when they prove me wrong, and do something that is so disgraceful that it beats the previous thing. Never has this been truer than on national Obama day.

On Tuesday, January 21st I had five classes. Thank goodness. Otherwise I may have been tempted to watch the junk on the tube. However, I coudln't escape the circus because it was everywhere. So on my way to school the next morning, as usual, I turned on Newstalk 1130. I was just in time to hear a soundbyte from the day before... the worst soundbyte I've ever heard. I can't lie to you, I cried when I heard it. It was out of anger, maybe out of sheer sadness for how far this country has fallen, but it any case, I certainly did shed some tears.

The clip was of Americans outside the White House singing a particular song to Former President Bush. I'm sure you've all heard it. "Na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye".

Wow.

In no circumstance is it appropriate to bid farewell to an American president in such a fashion. It was the most shameful display of liberal stupidity I have ever heard. Whether or not you loved Bush or hated him, agreed with him or opposed, you do NOT disrespect an American hero in such a manner. That is what George W. Bush is. A hero.

Again, I won't lie to you. I think that Obama is going to be terrible as president. His policy is ridiculous, and the circus that surrounds him is also insane. However, I would never disrespect him in any manner, especially not him as a person. First of all, I can have my opinions but that doesn't always mean they are correct. Second, I do not know him personally, so I can't be a judge for his character. I see what he has done so far, and from what I've seen of his actions, I believe him to be foolish. But still, if I ever met him, I would treat him with the respect he deserves as America's president. If he were leaving the White House (which I wish he would) I would never give him such an appalling send off.

Former President George W. Bush was a great leader. He was able to make tough decisions and made them in hard times. He always pursued the road that he believed to be best for this country and all citizens. He had a strong moral compass and he was ALWAYS an American first. He did not deserve such a disrespectful goodbye from his home of eight years. Can you imagine how that must have felt for him as he was leaving? How would you feel? After dedicating your life to a country twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week for eight years... that is the thanks you get for doing your absolute best, every day. I can't imagine it. I don't want to.

I personally would like to thank the former president for keeping me safe from all American enemies. For keeping my interests at heart and remembering that America is built on hardworking, honest people. He is a great American and was the best man for the job during his two terms. No one else could have handled his job with as much class and virtue during such difficult cirumstances.

If you are a liberal reading this, I hope you're ashamed of yourself even though I'm sure you're not. Someday I hope you recongnize, at least at a human level, the amount of work he put in to preserve your right to criticize him and be eternally obnoxious.

President Bush... Mission Accomplished.

Liberals are like Cancer for America

I've been thinking a lot about liberals for the past few months. I've been trying to wrap my mind around some of the things they say and do. I desperately want to understand where they are coming from so that I can evaluate my stance, and see if there is middle ground. I hate to be so extremely partisan that I come off as unreasonable or closed minded.

The more I think about it, the less I can budge from where I stand. In fact, I'm going so far as to say that liberals are like cancer to America. They are eating away at the American body and eventually, they are going to kill the greatest state in the world.

I have dozens of examples of why I believe that to be true, but I'll spare you and only offer a few.

First: American Education

Liberal teachers across the country at every age level are polluting children's impressionable minds with their agendas... political agendas.

During one of my high school medical occupation classes, the teacher made us watch a movie about AIDS. Obviously, it was geared toward not only awareness, but toward sympathy and acceptance for homosexuals. For most kids, I'm sure they didn't watch the movie and realize they were being exposed to subliminal messages. For me... it just made me angry.

A grosser example: In Provincetown, MA the school boards have voted to begin teaching preschoolers about homosexuality. Preschoolers.

Really?

Liberal educators. American cancer number 1.

Second: American Media

Now look, I understand that the media gets blamed for a lot of garbage these days. I would feel bad for them, except they truly are junk journalists for the most part. As a media person, I understand that it's easy and fast to just take the liberal side of issues. However, it's not ethical and it's leading to the decay of an already dumbing American public.

Since most Americans believe the junk they see on TV or read in newspapers, it's even more important for journalists to behave responsibly. Do they do that? No. They report with a liberal spin and people believe every word, especially young kids who don't have the proper training to see past the partisan language.

A personal example. My step brother enjoys bothering me every way he can. One way he does this is by picking up newspapers, reading a little bit of an article, and telling me about it. Since every newspaper and magazine in the past few weeks has had no content other than Obama and his rise to power, that's all I hear from my step brother. He's 12 years old and he thinks that since he reads it in the newspaper that it must be true. Great. Pretty soon he'll be annoying and liberal.

Liberal media: American cancer number 2.

Third: American government

Is that too broad? I don't care if you think it is because this area allows for lost Republicans to seep through the cracks and add to the mayhem caused by the liberals. Liberal representatives in government are some of the most ridiculous people in this country. They hype issues up that they deem important, and skim on things that really need attention.

Example? Hmm, what is new in the news today... oh yeah. THE STIMULUS!

Wow. So the stimulus package has been passed. Great. I wonder if many people know the types of projects that money will be going toward. ACORN, for one, will be getting a large chunk of that money. Also on that list are bee keepers and a mob musuem in Las Vegas. Those facts, by the way, I got from Vicki McKenna. But alright, so liberals pushed and pushed for this ridiculous stimulus package that won't be helping create jobs or wealth in this country. It's just a list of things liberals have wanted to do but couldn't for the past eight years because Bush wouldn't let such shenanegins happen under his watchful eye.

Republicans are starting to act as liberals when these bailouts and stimulous packages are concerned. They are rolling over and playing dead while the democrats walk all over them. Republicans... that is not being bi-partisan, that is being JUST PLAIN STUIPID!

Liberal government (some Republicans included): American cancer number 3.

There are many more. These are just a few that are bugging me right now. Issues like these are eating away at the fabric of American society. The longer we let it happen, the worse it will become until the country falls apart. When I say fall apart, I mean that we're going to go bankrupt and we will all be reduced to wretched shells of what we used to be. Our money will be stolen away in taxes for federal funded programs. Our values will disappear due to total acceptance of every lifestyle choice imaginable. It will go way beyond homosexuality people, mark my words. If we let it happen, it will.

Conservativism is the chemotherapy to the liberal cancer. The country needs help, and hopefully it will realize it before the cancer eats it alive.

Obama Billboards

Driving around Milwaukee has been irritating for the past few months due to all the Obama propoganda.

For example, eastbound 94, just past Mooreland Rd. there is a union sign spouting unity under his leadership... or some crap like that. I hate seeing it. It instantly dampers my morning commute.

Another example. Getting off the freeway at the 26th street exit, there is a billboard to the upper left. It's not for Obama, but it's liberal. There is a picture of an oil field and a corn field. It says "Their oil fields... our corn fields" and that also makes me grit my teeth as I drive to school.

Those things, as well as all the bumper stickers and listening to talk radio really get me heated, but recently the line has been crossed. Milwaukee has hit a new low, along with the rest of the country.

Clearchannel has posted billboards all around Milwaukee with Obama's face on it. Underneath it reads: "Yes We Can"

Are you kidding me?

I guess since Clearchannel owns the media, they can put whatever they want on their billboards, but it honestly makes me sick. What is it that "we can" do? Ruin the country? Corrupt young minds into thinking that Obama's warped views on public policy are earth shattering and groundbreaking? I mean really.

The best part about it is that Clearchannel owns Newstalk 1130, home of the Conservative voices of this country. As I was listening this morning, Vicki McKenna was saying how she was getting crap at work for making a comment about the billboards, since it was against Clearchannel, the owner of the company she worked for. THank goodness there are good people out there who called the station to say that she wasn't in the wrong.

Not only are the media corporations now endorsing bad politics, but they are trying to censor their own people. Give me a break. What happened to responsible journalism?

I suppose it died along with the belief that Americans can think for themselves and make wise decisions concerning their government and their freedoms.

Oops... I Forgot

I was listening angrily to talk radio this morning and heard something interesting.

There was an interview with Bill Ayers in which he came out and said that he is, in fact, personal friends with President Elect Obama and that he aided him in launching his senate campaign.

Wow... really?

Isn't that what conservatives have been saying all along? Liberals angrily yelled and screamed at us for accusing Obama of being associated with terrorists.

"Do you really think that millions of people would vote for someone associated with terrorists? Com'n Nicole!"

That's something a friend of mine wrote to me out of anger due to my accusations of Obama. Well, sir... millions of people did indeed vote for a man who is personally connected with terrorism. Super! I wish that conservatives would have been mistaken about this, but unfortunately this is what we have to deal with.

Do you think this information was out there before Obama was elected? Yes. Do you think it may have swayed the votes and election results would have been different? I don't know. The results would have probably been the same, but I'm sure it would have changed perceptions of the man. Did the media hear these rumors floating around? Most definately. There is no way they couldn't have.

So why wasn't it investigated and brought to national attention? Hmm... could be that the media just forgot. Responsible journalism is deterriorating and the agenda of the media is clearly not aligned with such a story as Obama fraternizing with terrorists.

Whatever, it's horrible that there's nothing to do now except deal with the fact that our future president has questionable intentions for this country. I'm horrified at the media and the American public for being so obvlivious to underlying concerns and not being responsible and educating themselves instead of blindly following media rule.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://spektorseasybutton.blogspot.com/2008/11/oops-i-forgot.html' title='Oops... With a brush of his pen, President Elect Obama can put the Fairness Doctrine into effect, which essentially is digging a grave for our elite conservative voices. Please give your respects to the great Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Belling- soon they will ridden from our airwaves.

The haters may be saying "the Fairness Doctrine isn't forcing conservative talk radio off the air, so stop being dramatic." Well, that's true, it won't technically remove all conservative talk radio. However, the chain of events will most certainly lead to at best, a decrease in intelligent conversation on the AM dial.

Let me break it down:

Once the Fairness Doctrine is put into effect, a station will have to play an hour of liberal talk radio to balance the conservative talk. The problem here is that liberals cannot effectively speak without big pictures or crude gestures, making it difficult for them to have successful radio programs. Conservative radio is incredibly popular because it makes sense and it says what the regular mainstream media is afraid to say, or just chooses to ignore. Well, people enjoy listening to conservative radio, so they tune in. Ratings for shows such as Sean Hannity are massive, so local stations keep him on the line-up. A liberal voice, Alan Colmes, for example, will not have nearly as high of ratings. Once the Doctrine is put into effect, local stations will make money for an hour with the Hannity show, and then lose money for an hour with the Colmes show. Local stations will be lucky to break even. With those numbers, small stations won't think it's worth the trouble and they will pull all political talk shows off air and replace it with music. Thus, conservative radio dies, along with freedom of speech, outlined in the Constitution.

Here is my major issue with this whole thing:

The Fairness Doctrine won't be applied to any other media. Newspapers? No. Internet? No. Television? Hell no... of course not, because those mediums are heavily dominated by liberal bias. The liberals in power are about to take away the only medium where conservative ideas may be expessed completely. I think it's pretty ridiculous to apply the rules just when it's convenient. Good job, liberals. You're so slick.

I love how freedom of speech is only important to the left when it benefits them. I love how equality matters, until they are calling the shots, then suddenly it doesn't matter so much. How can people ignore these horrific truths about the left in this country? It makes me sick and sad at the same time. Open your eyes, people, this is the world that we're living in... that YOU chose!

The Constitution is being defaced by a new radical agenda, and nobody seems to care, or even notice! Hypocrits are running the show and everyone smiles and chants "change!"

Wow... really?

Pushing for Palin

There are rumors buzzing around the media currently that Governor Sarah Palin will run for president in 2012. The media is wrong most of the time, and hopefully they're wrong about this as well.

Don't get me wrong, I support Governor Palin. She's vibrant, full of life, and has a personality that appeals to many. However, I don't believe she'll be ready for such a race so rapidly after the McCain campaign.

Palin will surely play a significant role in the re-emergence of the GOP and the Conservative movement that will most definately take place in the following years, however if she is seriously contemplating a presidential run in the near future, she should cool her jets.

The young congresswoman still has a lot to learn before she can seriously take a stab at the presidency. She needs to clear her name from the alligations that have been thrown around by insiders on the McCain campain, re-group and take serious stands on problems facing the country. I have a feeling that after Obama's first term, people will be searching for a different type of "change", one that makes sense. Depending on what Obama does in way of a second term, the window will be there for the GOP to retake the White House and show people that it's serious about coming through for the people, not just the party. When the opportunity presents itself, I think there will be clear choices for the presidency. Those choices will not include Sarah Palin.

Louisianna's own Bobby Jindal and my home-grown hero Paul Ryan are the two that seem to be getting prepped for an upcoming GOP nomination, and by all means they should continue. Both men are hardworking and honest, with great ideas and star power. They are youthful, which will be highly marketable, intelligent, and have meat to back up the bare bones of campaign promises. Such men will be the future of the GOP and will be responsible for a triumphant return to America's main politcal stage. The year of the donkey will be overshadowed by the brilliance of the future leaders in the Republican Party.

Sorry Sarah, you may have to wait a little longer to rise once again to the top. Although you are fabulous, you were whisked from your home and launched into the public eye prematurely. Now is your time to prepare yourself, polish up, and stand tall while waiting for your next opportunity to shine.

Palin for president in 2012? Not likely. However, there will come a day when our beloved Alaskan governor will rise up and shine. Faithful fans will be here waiting.

Too Much OLD in GOP

Just for a change of pace, I'm going to put aside my distaste for the liberals and focus on my distaste for the GOP.

After working for the party on the McCain campaign, I have realized that there are just as many issues on the Right side of the ticket. One major problem I've noticed is the Republican Party image. It's stale. It's stuffy. It's old.

From what I gather from friends and other students at Marquette, the GOP is out of touch and has nothing to offer to young people. This is a serious problem, considering that we are the future of both parties. I've heard that a person tends to stick with the party they vote for their first time at the polls. If that's the case, then conservatives in my age braquet are in serious trouble. Not many of us were NObama's this year, which means that when we get to be "real" grown-ups, we're going to have another issue of democratic dominance in the government.

The GOP needs a facelift. It needs to let go of the reigns a little bit and allow new ideas to flow through its veins. During the McCain election, I often felt frustrated because I was under-utilized. There were many young conservatives working with the staffers and the national campaigners, and they dismissed our ideas at times as if we were nothing but children. What amazes me is that we were older than some of the people on staff, and they were set in the ways of the party. They didn't seem to have the drive to reform or prosper. Instead, they wanted to play by the rules and accept the old ways of the old party.

A perfect example from the recent campaign is the phone banking. It makes me ill to think of all the phone calls I made. Chances are, if you live anywhere in the great state of Wisconsin, I've spoken with you on the telephone about John McCain. The phone calling itself wasn't necessarily the problem, but the way it was conducted. Early on, during the summer months when campaigning wasn't such a life or death situation for the volunteer centers, the survey calls we made were dandy. People responded pleasantly and some were near giddy to have their opinions heard. As the campaign became heated, as there was news coverage flooding the tv, and it was coming down to the wire- the calls became redundant. I looked over our lists and recognized names. I constantly had the feeling that I had called a certain house before. Lo and behold, yes! I have called this house. Families weren't afraid to let me know that either. It was tough to make those calls. I felt like a telemarketer. I used to hate answering my phone when those people called, and it was sickening to know that I became that person I hated.

The GOP needs to revamp their phone calling system. It needs to find alternate ways to reach families other than flooding their phone lines. This is the age of the internet. You know, the internet... have you heard of it, grandpa? Obviously, the internet opens up new opportunities that traditional campaign methods don't allow. Since my main point is youth involvement in the GOP, I'll throw this out there. AIM campaigns? What young person these days doesn't go on Instant Messenger? Hardly any that I know. Younger members of the GOP would serve a greater purpose if they took a break off the phones and spent an hour or so chatting to local kids online. The internet also allows mass emails, instant connections to anywhere you need to get a message out, and it saves a lot of money.

The internet isn't the only way to maximize on young conservative workers. This will sound like a no-brainer, but I feel compelled to mention it. Young people know other young people. Wow... really? The McCain campaign loved to stress the fact that young people worked on the campaign for free, whereas the Obama young volunteers had to be paid. To be honest, I think that's probably fabricated. I have to give the Obama kids credit, they were constantly running around the Marquette campus being annoying, which is exactly what the McCain kids should have been doing. They had gaudy poster boards, they wore Obama's face on their t-shirts, and they shouted at people. I would never shout at anyone... but you get my drift. They were young people excited about a youthful candidate. They got other young people excited. They were successful. The fact is, no matter how many pins I had on my bag or stickers on my notebooks... pins and stickers can't make up for a loud, annoying voice.

Obama's campaign took their youth following and put them to work on college campuses and in the midst of busy downtown areas. Did McCain's campaign do that? No. At least not in the Milwaukee area. I went to UWM once and Marquette once. ONCE. During the entire campaign. We should have been staples on campus, being just as annoying and twice as loud as the Obama fraeks.

Another thing. Young people have fresh ideas. It's okay to listen once in a while. Hey, You! With the elephant pin... did you catch that last thing?

Attention GOP: I am a young person. I have talents that you can use. I have friends who are also young and have different sets of talents. If you put us in a room, give us some resources and some responsibility, we can help you win elections.

The concept is so simple. Use what you have to help you win. Young people are the key to a successful party. Whether you're talking about a specific campaign or not, young people are of critical importance in a politcal party because they are the future leaders, future polticians, future media personalities. Raw talent and ideas can be groomed into something great.

So hey, old farts of the GOP... I'm here. I have friends. We all have ideas and are willing to work. Get off the rocker, put down the scotch, and utilize your most important assets.

The Silver Lining

The election has come and has gone, with many highlights and disappointments. Such is life.

An obvious disappointment is the election of Senator Barack Obama. That's a tough break. The best man for the job didn't win the hearts of Americans, at least not enough to rock the vote. Although this outcome is a devastating blow for America, there are some high points that should be recognized.

An Obama White House will most definately lead to America needing a change from "change". His campaign promises have already begun to deteriorate, starting in this victory speech. He immidiately began to lower American expectations. "The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even one term." What? Do you mean to tell me that you don't think you can make good on your campaign promises? Wow, Barack, really?
"There will be setbacks and false starts." Setbacks? What type of setbacks? The kind where you say one thing and do another? Let's start with the promise to get American troops out of Iraq immidiately, then saying that there are logistical issues that can't be avoided. Come on, Barack, you aren't stupid. You knew those problems would be there when you began talking about the withdrawl. You led your sheep astray, you wolf. Shame on you.

My point here was to illustrate that President Elect Obama will wear out his welcome in the White House, and Americans will be ready for the rise the GOP. When I say GOP, I refer to the base. Conservativism will resurge and become the answer once again for Americans yearning for a better goverment. Also, when I say conservativism, I mean Paul Ryan. In 2012, after Obama's first term, the stage will be set for an honest, hardworking, consevative representative. Paul Ryan is the man for the job. He is the future of the GOP and is a rising star not only in the conservative movement, but in American politics. Watch out, America- Paul Ryan is on the move and is coming to improve your standard of living.

An Obama presidency is also a good thing because it has forced the GOP to step back and re-examine it's state of affairs. There have obviously been huge problems withing the party and the democratic take over of American politics is a huge opportunity for the GOP to regroup and figure out where to go from here. Rock bottom leaves a lot of room for improvement and advancement. While Obama is out there on Pennsylvania Avenue, making a mockery of America, the members of the GOP will be putting together new ideas, grooming the future leaders, and reforming policies. The GOP has gotten a rough during the past eight years, and this is the time to revamp and create a new image. It will be difficult, no doubt, but the GOP has a solid foundation and will build sturdy walls upon it. 2012 will be the year of the new, sexy, effective GOP.

It's true, I was completely disappointed in the election results on November 4th. However, after a day or two of pouting and feeling sorry for myself and for America, I sucked it up and found the positives. Now it's time to get over the past and look forward. John McCain is the past, Paul Ryan is the future.

President Barack Obama? Sounds terrible. However, it's a blessing in disguise. Conservatives, have no fear, because America will soon be re-united under a common goal: Rescuing American principles from the tyranny of an Obama White House.

Got the plan? See the outcome? Work hard, fellow conservatives. Relief is four short years away.

We Get What We Deserve

I was making phone calls last night for the McCain/Palin campaign and as I went through the lists of endless numbers, and talked to hundreds of people around the state, I realized something.

I have a pain in my chest that I've never had before.

Ricky, one of the faithful volunteers at the Headquarters, would tell me it's from smoking too much. I know it's from the campaign.

Everytime I heard the phone ringing, my stomach got nervous. My head began to ache and the pain in my chest would begin. I would hear a cheery voice answer, and then an angry or sarcastic voice hang up.

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of The Republican..."
--Click--

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of The Republican..."
--I wouldn't vote for a Republican if it would save my life! Click--

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of The Republican..."
--There is no one on this ticket except Barack Obama. No one else is qualified. Click--

Call after call, these are things I wrestle with. The pain in my chest becomes sharper with each angry democrat I speak with. Don't get me wrong, I can deal with crazy liberals. I am in college, for heaven's sake. If I couldn't handle it, I'd go to Grove City. It's the other calls that break my heart. The calls that go something like this:

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the Republican Party of..."
--Republican Party? I'll pray for you.--

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the Republican Party..."
--If you had a soul, you would be a Democrat--

And this is my personal favorite:

"Hi, I'm calling on behalf of the Republican Party..."
--Sorry, I don't talk to people who like to kill our soldiers. When you have a family member who is killed in Iraq, then call me back.
"Sir, my cousin was killed in Iraq just last year, and my other cousin was mamed by a roadside bomb. I understand what loss feels like."
--You're lying. I bet you're making it up. Republicans are always lying. F--- you! Click--

The pain in my heart brought me to tears after that phone call. I used to get angry at these people who scream at me and belittle my faith, my beliefs, and my family. Now, I just take a breath and try to remember that people get what they deserve. If this county is so determined to bring down the Republican Party, it will. Then those who brought the GOP to it's knees will be kicking themselves when a democratic government brings America to the ground completely. When our rights are taken away, when the goverment is stealing America's hard earned money through outrageous taxes, when illegal immigrants have more rights than American born citizens... then those people will get what they deserved.

It really is sad to admit that I have this frame of mind. Usually I'm more optimistic. Some days, like today, I can't help but think that if Obama is elected this November, I won't even be mad. In fact, when the country becomes hell on earth, I'll laugh at those who supported him. I want to have the satisfaction of saying "I told you so" and then walk away thinking that they got what they deserve.

The problem with this train of thought, is that if the liberals get what they deserve, the rest of us get it too. That's a bittersweet victory. When I get my maturity back, I realize that I would rather work hard now, help McCain get in office, and stiffle my desire for vengence. The fact is, a democrat probably woudln't even admit that our country would be worse than before. They'd flip me the bird, scream a curse word and be on their way. If I wasn't such a firm believer in personal rights, I would punch one of them in the mouth so they coudln't speak without feeling bad that I took away their freedom of speech.

I personally think that the supporters of McCain/Palin deserve a victory in November. I also think that Obama supporters deserve to be handed a reality check... I said reality, by the way, not welfare.

In the end, for better or worse, we will all get what we deserve. Sometimes I wish that I could rise out of my body and see the world from someone else's perspective. Honestly, I try to be sympathetic and look from the other side, but there are some things that I simply cannot grasp.

For example...

I was recently stuck in traffic on my way work and a man in an SUV next to me motioned for me to roll my window down. I thought maybe one of my lights was out. To my amazement, the man looked me square in the eye, flicked me off and screamed profanities at me. I wasn't sure what the scene was about until he cut me off about a mile up the road when traffic cleared. He had a larger than life Obama bumper sticker. Wow. Really?

Yeah, Guy... drive your gas guzzling, earth polluting SUV, then go around preaching "Go Green".

Can you handle another example?

The same day, I was driving down a busy highway in town. I pulled into a right turn only lane, which has a yield sign. So, okay... I yield, only to be hit from behind by a truck. Logically, I pull to the side of the road to exchange information and check out any damage to my car. Lo and behold, the driver sped away. The coward coudln't face the possibility of paying me money for slamming into my car, apparently. I tried to catch his liscence plate, but instead I caught a clear view of a sticker which read "Obama for a Peaceful America". Really? You have to be joking. Twice in the same day. I'm not going to outright suggest that this guy slammed my bumper on purpose... but hey, I can't stop from thinking it.

I can't wrap my mind around the fact that these democrats can spout for days about being kind and compassionate, and then get into people's faces and cause physical damage to their property just because they don't share their point of view.

I don't understand the "Obama Nation" mentality. I'll continue to try because I'd really like to know why I deserve to get screamed at and harassed for supporting McCain. But the thing I really don't understand is why Obama disciples have to be rude. It's one thing to like a candidate and endorse them, but it's quite another to go so far as to intimidate others who feel differently. Is there an excuse for crude behavior when it comes to candidate support? I don't think so. I have never been outright rude to an Obama supporter that I haven't known. I would never dream of flicking someone off in traffic or intentionally hurting them in any way. I don't even bother people verbally unless provoked.

A message to the Obama Nation: Either stop harassing people of different beliefs, or stop claiming tollerance for all people. It doesn't work. We have a great word for haters who claim to be lovers. Hypocrits.

The Speck in My Eye

Peace, love, and acceptance is something that is preached consistently on the left side of the isle. They want equality. They want fair treatment. They want the playing field to be flat. They attack the Red for being closed-minded and judgemental. They are quick to point fingers and blast the mainstream full of propoganda that Republicans are cold-hearted and out-of-touch.

I was sitting in class today with a group of liberal college students. Dressed to kill with Obama buttons and stickers, they sat proudly. The current assignment was to come up with a story board in ten minutes. Our particular assignment was a story board for a documentary, focused on idealogical elements.

Here it comes.

"How about we do ours about religious cults?"

Sure. I would absoultely love to do a story board about religious cults with a group of liberally biased students. I can't imagine anything I would rather do. Oh wait, yes I can. How about a root canal. That would be far less painful.

The group decided to do the project on "The Evangelicals" and how their cult-like worship is scary to normal people. Wow. Really? One girl spoke about how Christians attack Muslim faith. Well, alright. I'm a Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran, and I sit right of center on the great spectrum. I can't remember the last time I attacked a Muslim. In fact, I can't remember the last time I attacked anyone's religion.

Am I dreaming? A liberal is attacking religious preferences and a conservative is open-minded?

No. This is real life. This is a real college campus, and this is a real issue. All the finger pointing from the left makes me grind my teeth out of sheer anger. How can anyone be self-righteous to the point of accusing others of hatred and intollerance, just to turn around and discriminate against the people they are attacking? I can't wrap my mind around this paradox. It amazes me everyday. Around every corner, in the seat next to mine in the lecture hall, there is a liberal who is preaching acceptance and is acting out nothing more than an elitest attitude.

I would love for a liberal to stop and think a minute before speaking. I'm sure it will never happen, but I can only dream.

The Bible says that a man shouldn't point out the speck in his neighbor's eye before he takes the plank out of his own. A great lesson for men, in general, but for liberals in particular. You have five fingers on each hand. You are using one to point out the flaws of the Right. Try using your other nine to fix the flaws in yourself so your one hypocritical finger may be validated.
